YTL’s Yes continues to expand its 5G network to other parts of Malaysia as more and more telcos have signed 5G agreements with DNB. This time,Yes announced the launch of their commercial 5G service in Ipoh City.
Major locations in Ipoh now have 5G connectivity installed, such as the Ipoh Railway Station with 5G download speeds of up to 715Mbps per hour. Other 5G coverage areas include Medan Ipoh, Ipoh Town, Station 18, Bercham, Tambun, Gunung Rapat and Bandar Sri Botani. Yes’s goal is to continue to deploy 5G networks in Perak.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement will promote 5G in the city of Ipoh, providing local residents and businesses with 5G connectivity and access to Yes Infinite Gateway 5G wireless broadband, Yes First to 5G prepaid plans and Yes Infinite 5G postpaid plans . The expansion of Yes 5G services in Ipoh is also in line with Ipoh City’s goal of building a smart, low-carbon and prosperous city by 2030.
At the launch ceremony, Yes joined Perak Governor YAB Dato’ Seri Saarani Bin Mohamad, Ipoh Mayor Y. Bhg Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud, Perbadanan kemamjuan Negeri Perak, representatives from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and Digital Perak A memorandum of understanding was signed.
