Windows Subsystem for Android v1.0 released

Cory Hendrixson, Project Development Manager, Microsoft Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) AnnounceRelease v1.0, ie WSA is now available to everyone. WSA is a subsystem for running Android applications announced by Microsoft in 2021. Similar to Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), it provides a proxy native application between the Android application model and the Windows application model. There will be a virtual machine to provide access to Android Open Source Project (AOSP) compatible. Microsoft and Amazon have teamed up to bring their App Store to Windows 11. Currently, Windows users can only run Android apps through Amazon’s store rather than the Google Play Store, and most of the Android apps supported are games. WSA 1.0 currentlyprovided to Windows Insider and Beta, build number 2209.40000.26.0.
