Vodafone (Vodafone) and BT Group (formerly British Telecom), the two major British telecommunications companies, both announced layoff plans this week. From 2028 to 2030, the existing 130,000 manpower will be reduced to 75,000 to 90,000, and the manpower reduction rate will be as high as 30% to 42%. Both Vodafone and British Telecom are large telecom operators headquartered in the UK but operating across global markets. Both parties released their financial reports for the 2023 fiscal year ending in March this year.
