Every October, the U.S. White House promotes a month-long “Cybersecurity Awareness Month”, as the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Director Jen Easterly is even more active in traveling around, hoping to raise the information security awareness of the American people. She also published a document and recorded a video on Twitter a few days ago (October 18), saying that she will support the FIDO (Fast Identity Online) alliance to support biometric identification such as fingerprints and the passwordless digital identity authentication mechanism for FIDO vehicles. It can replace the MFA (multi-factor authentication) mechanism of SMS OTP (one-time password) commonly used in all walks of life, making FIDO a new generation of digital identity authentication mechanism.
