The ban, which will take effect on January 1, 2024, will prohibit TikTok from operating in the state and prohibit Google and Apple’s app stores from offering TikTok applications in the state. A group of TikTok users in the state quickly filed a lawsuit, arguing that the bill to ban TikTok across the state violated their First Amendment rights.
