He first purged under outside pressure a few months ago, and Iran’s IRNA news agency reported that he fell ill shortly after and died on Sunday. He previously told the media that he chose to avoid the world and not wash because of emotional frustration in his youth, because his skin was covered with soot and pus from years of not washing, and his diet included carrion and unsanitary water.
