Urban Tech Story | Signal says refusal to help Decrypt considers exiting Indian market

The Indian government’s proposed bill would give it the power to intercept encrypted messages, however end-to-end encryption is impossible to intercept, so the bill also requires businesses that offer end-to-end encryption to help decrypt or intercept messages. Signal, which provides an end-to-end encrypted messaging service, has made it clear it won’t help India. Signal president Meredith Whittaker said in an interview that if India asks for forced decryption or implantation of encrypted backdoors,Signal will exit the Indian market
