The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) submitted the latest update to the Office of the US Trade RepresentativeNotorious Market List(PDF), which includes torrent sites, web drives, and pirated streaming services. In addition, RIAA will also AI seen as an emerging copyright threat. The RIAA says there are online services that use AI to create new compositions that are similar or nearly identical to a reference artist’s composition. One of the services mentioned by the RIAA is Songmastr, its underlying technology is open source Matchering 2.0, and the code is published on GitHub. The site promises to create (or master) similar styles of music based on well-known musicians such as Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Bob Dylan.
