Urban Tech Story | Japanese companies force new employees to use ChatGPT

While companies are still trying to understand how AI tools like ChatGPT will affect work methods, a Japanese fintech company has begun making AI mandatory for new employees, even testing it. Tokyo-based LayerX makes it clear in job advertisements that it will test candidates using AI tools from OpenAI and Notion. Takaya Ishiguro, HR director at LayerX, said that we admit that ChatGPT is not perfect, but it is also dangerous to be too afraid of new technologies. The company’s recruiters will evaluate candidates’ ability to ask questions of AI chatbots, and will also ask candidates to conduct research to identify the limitations of AI technology. ChatGPT can also be overconfident when it generates wrong answers, which affects the willingness of enterprises to adopt it.
