Foxconn Zhengzhou factory hit by epidemic
Videos and photos of workers at Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory returning home on foot on Saturday have sparked heated discussions on social media. With more than 200,000 employees, Foxconn’s Zhengzhou plant is Apple’s largest production base for iPhones, accounting for half of the world’s supply. Foxconn said production was flat, with forecasts for the fourth quarter remaining unchanged. At present, Apple’s latest iPhone 14 has been partially produced in India, and Apple is shifting production outward. The Zhengzhou Airport Area Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters, where the Foxconn factory is located, stated that no severe infection has occurred and the epidemic is generally under control.
