by The FBI arrested a New York man on Wednesday accused of running BreachForums, a dark web cybercrime forum that is one of the world’s largest sites for selling stolen data. The FBI arrested a man named Conor Brian Fitzpatrick, believed to be BreachForums administrator Pompompurin, around 4:30 pm Wednesday. Records show he last visited BreachForums at 3:53 p.m. on Wednesday, shortly before his arrest. BreachForums hosts the stolen databases of nearly a thousand businesses. Databases often include personal information such as names, emails and passwords. Fitzpatrick was released on a $300,000 bond and is due to appear in court on March 24.
