Canonical AnnounceReleased Ubuntu 22.10 codenamed Kinetic Kudu. Major new changes include: kernel upgrade to 5.19 Linux kernel, systemd v251.4, AppArmor support to restrict access to unauthorized user space, default audio server to replace PulseAudio with PipeWire, default image application support .webp format, GNOME 43, Firefox 106, LibreOffice 7.4 35, Thunderbird 102, etc. Canonica says the new release improves the experience for enterprise developers and IT administrators, updates the Ruby, Go, GCC and Rust toolchains, supports running MicroPython on different microcontrollers, and more.
