The language used by Facebook to develop Android applications is migrated to Kotlin

Meta/Facebook discloseThe language it uses to develop Android applications migrated from Java to Kotlin, which has over 10 million lines of code. The advantages of Kotlin over Java include: built-in nullability handling, support for inline functions and lambda expressions, shorter code, and the ability to define a DSL (Domain-specific language). The downside is that you have to deal with mixed codebases for a long time, and Kotlin is still far less popular than Java, which is the second or third most popular language in the world.
