Although users of Apple products are all over the world, not all countries have Apple Stores. Malaysia is one of the countries that has no official Apple retail stores. Local consumers currently need to purchase Apple products through authorized retailers such as Machines, but this will change soon.
Netizen Fazil Halim uploaded photos on Twitter earlier this week, showing the Apple Store under construction at the Tun Razak International Trade Center (TRX) in Kuala Lumpur. The photos show workers rushing to work on the construction site, as well as the large Apple logo that has been lit. In addition to photos as evidence that the Apple Store is about to land in Malaysia, some netizens also found other evidence. Netizen Nazri Ishak found that Apple’s official website is recruiting 11 positions, including retail store managers, managers, technicians and Apple Genius, all of whom work in Malaysia.
There is no official opening date for the Apple Store in Kuala Lumpur, and the Malaysian media estimates that it will not be completed until 2023 at the earliest. Regarding Apple’s plan to open a store in Malaysia, it was reported last year that they were negotiating with TRX, and Apple has three and two Apple Stores in Southeast Asian countries Singapore and Thailand respectively, and Malaysia is relatively lagging behind in this regard.
