Tesla Semi truck begins mass production, first to be shipped to Pepsi in December – Hong Kong unwire.hk

Speaking of Tesla’s next new product, many people will immediately think of the Cybertruck, but in fact, the next new car will likely be a commercial Semi truck. Elon Musk said that they have officially started production and are expected to ship in December .

Tesla Semi is the electric truck they announced in 2017. At that time, it was planned to be put into mass production in 2019, and the output could reach 100,000 units per year by 2022. However, the plan was later delayed, and it was not until today that Elon Musk finally announced the start of mass production. The Semi is designed with a single front seat and has an endurance of about 800 kilometers. Like other Tesla models, it also supports the Autopilot automatic driving function, which is expected to reduce driving fatigue for long-distance truck drivers.

According to Elon Musk’s announcement on Twitter, the first customer to receive shipments will be Pepsi, but although there are about 100 orders, it has not been disclosed whether all shipments will be made this time. Since Semi is a commercial model, it has not received much attention, but it is actually an important part of Tesla’s future blueprint.
