Auction house Bonhams will hold an auction on the theme of “History of Science and Technology”. One of the items is the Macintosh SE used by Apple founder Steve Jobs. This computer will be auctioned in New York on October 25, and the final estimated price is estimated. Will be in the range of US$250,000 to US$300,000 (approximately HK$1.96 million to HK$2.36 million).
The Macintosh SE was the computer Steve Jobs used after he left Apple to start NeXT, and it was in his office from 1988 to 1994. According to Bonhams’ introduction, the hard disk of the auction item still retains some information about Jobs’ work at NeXT and Pixar, including his weekly work and activity schedule, and he can even be seen missing a meeting with Prince Charles. However, the sensitive data in the computer was removed after the replacement of the computer.
It was alleged that Jobs’ daughter, Lisa Brennan-Jobs, also used it to send and receive emails, and the Microsoft Word on the computer was also registered in Lisa’s name. In addition to the aforementioned Mactinosh SE, there is also a rather rare Apple II: Ventless Rev 0 computer (above) in this auction. The non-ventilated body caused overheating problems. Apple will soon replace the ventilated machine for customers free of charge. In fact, this Rev 0 version has very little circulation in the market, and it is estimated that the transaction price may be as high as 30,000 US dollars (about 23.6 good night).
