Sony Honda electric car called “AFFELLA” will be delivered as soon as 2026

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2022) last year, Sony announced its entry into the electric vehicle industry with a high profile. At this year’s CES 2023, Sony Honda Mobility will officially showcase a new drivable electric prototype vehicle – AFEELA.

This time Sony Honda Mobility brought the physical prototype of its first concept car to the public. The real AFEELA is similar to the previous announcement, with a streamlined body. Chief Executive Officer Mizuno Yasuhide said at CES that “AFEELA represents our commitment to people and cars. The vehicle concept of interaction and perception of the environment, and through AI technology and sensors to understand people and society,” AFEELA provides a full range of 360-degree sensing, equipped with more than 40 sets of sensors inside and outside the car, including lenses, ultrasonic sensors, radar, In order to improve the ability of detecting objects and automatic driving, and adopt the 3D creation tool Unreal Engine of Fornite game manufacturer Epic Games.


Like other high-end car brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volvo, Audi, etc., AFEELA will provide additional services that can be subscribed for car owners to use, allowing car owners to use more additional functions. In addition, there is more news that the vehicle will be fully integrated with PS5 to provide games and entertainment systems.

The company expects to produce it at one of Honda’s American car plants, open orders in 2025, and officially ship it in North America in early 2026, followed by Japan and Europe.
