Samsung is negotiating with Microsoft to make Bing the default search engine for its Galaxy line of devices. Galaxy devices include smartphones and tablets. Samsung is the largest maker of Android devices, and Google entered a “panic” state after learning of Samsung’s talks with Microsoft. It set out to accelerate the rollout of Magi, an AI-infused search engine. Google believes Samsung favored Bing because of its AI capabilities. The Magi AI feature is likely to be launched in May 2023, initially limited to some users in the United States, and plans to expand to 30 million users by the end of the year.
