Both Ehteraz and Hayya have been accused of security and privacy issues,considered spyware. Ehteraz asks for permission to read, delete or change everything on the phone, connect to WiFi and Bluetooth, override other apps and prevent the phone from going into sleep mode. Hayya doesn’t ask for as many permissions, but it also asks for nearly unlimited sharing of personal information, as well as permissions such as locating and preventing sleep.
