Pacific island nation of Vanuatu offline for over a month

The newly elected government of the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu has had a major problem since its first day in office on November 6: Government computer services are out of order, and government officials are limited to 20th-century tools — paper and pen. Vanuatu has dozens of islands with a total population of 320,000, and the inability to use network services will undoubtedly bring communication coordination problems. Prime Minister Alatoi Ishmael Kalsakau told local news agencies that 70% of services had been restored. But the disconnection problem still persists. As for the source of the problem, some sources claimed that it was ransomware, but the government kept secret about this, and did not confirm or say whether it would pay the ransom.
