Palmer Luckey, founder of VR head-mounted display company Oculus, said in an interview on the 24th that Mark Zuckerberg’s horizon worlds project was too expensive, and the product was boring and not fun.
Palmer starts by praising Mark Zuckerberg for his long-term vision. “Mark Zuckerberg is the only one who thinks Horizon Worlds can be made better by just putting money in. Horizon Worlds is terrible right now, but it could be great in the future,” he said.
Palmer then added that the Metaverse project is “Project Car” and will be very expensive. And because the future development direction is unclear, a lot of useless functions will be done, and these codes will eventually be reduced, which will waste a lot of manpower and material resources.
To date, Mark Zuckerberg has invested more than $12 billion in the Metaverse. Oculus, a VR head-mounted display company founded by Palmer Luckey, was acquired by Facebook for $2 billion in 2014.
