Less than a week after taking over the social platform Twitter, Musk announced yesterday (2) a new paid subscription service with user verification functions, and the price was also adjusted from the original $5 to $8. Musk believes this is the only way to defeat fake accounts. The newly adjusted service is for Twitter Blue, marked by a blue tick, which provides more content collections, customized Twitter backgrounds, delayed posting and post-editing tweets than free accounts. Launched last year, the service costs $4.99 a month, and many of its users are entertainers, well-known entrepreneurs and politicians. Earlier this week, The Verge reported that Twitter may raise the monthly fee for Twitter Blue from $5 to $20. Fortunately, the final price was not so exaggerated.
