Earlier this week, Apple released the final beta version of iOS 16.4 to developers and public beta users; in this update, Apple added references to new Beats Studio+ headphones and new AirPods. The developer @aaronp613 said on Twitter that the new AirPods headset model referenced in iOS 16.4 is A3048, and the new AirPods shell model is A2968; in this regard, Tianfeng International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that this should be the USB-C of AirPods Pro 2 Version.
Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple is expected to begin mass shipments of the USB-C version of AirPods Pro 2 in the second to third quarters of this year. However, Apple currently does not seem to have plans to provide a USB-C version of AirPods 2 or AirPods 3.
I think this is likely the USB-C version of the AirPods Pro 2, with mass shipments expected in 2Q23-3Q23. By the way, Apple currently appears to have no plans for USB-C versions of the AirPods 2 & 3.
I think this should be AirPods Pro… https://t.co/aWKJvGh1lW

Most outsiders believe that Apple will start with this year’s iPhone 15 series and convert the original Lightning charging port on the iPhone into a USB-C hole that complies with EU regulations. And it’s possible that Apple will convert most (but not all) of its accessories to USB-C ports as well.
This is not the first time Ming-Chi Kuo has mentioned that Apple will make future versions of the AirPods earphones equipped with USB-C. Last year, he said that Apple would allow AirPods and other accessories to be converted to USB-C charging along with the iPhone. And this change also applies to accessories such as the Mac’s smart keyboard, smart version, and smart mouse, as well as the MagSafe mobile power supply for the iPhone.
