by Meta announced yesterday (27) that it had cracked down on recent speech operations on its online platform intended to interfere with the U.S. midterm elections, including the first operation originating from China. In order to prevent a repeat of the incidents that certain individuals disseminated through the Meta platform affecting the election results in the past several elections, Meta has intensified its investigation of fake information and fake news before this year’s mid-term elections, and accordingly investigated speech operations from China and Russia.
