iOS will gradually introduce more ads from tomorrow, only users in China can be exempted

Apple revealed in an email to developers that starting October 25, app-related ad spots will appear in the App Store’s “Today” and “You Might Also Like” at the bottom of the app list. There will be no new ad slots in the App Store in China only.

Currently, App Store ads are limited to search results for Keywords and Search Tag Suggestions. With ads in the Today tab and the You Might Also Like section, the App Store will have four ad options. Apple added that all ads will have a blue background and an “ad” icon to allow users to identify ads.

Apple first announced plans to expand its App Store advertising space as early as July, and legal expert Florian Mueller tweeted that “you might also like” advertising space is a way to increase the “App Tax”, forcing developers to pay more Buy ads on your own app pages to avoid competitors driving customers away.

In August, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman said Apple hopes to nearly triple its current ad revenue in the future to at least $10 billion a year. Therefore, in addition to the App Store, advertising spaces may also be added to the Apple Map in the future.
