India slaps Google again with $113 million antitrust fine

in last week’s $161.9 millionAfter that, India once again $113 million in fines, accused the search giant of abusing the dominance of the Google Play Store, ordering Google to allow app developers to use third-party payment services for in-app purchases or app purchases. India is Google’s largest market, with Android accounting for 97 percent of the country’s 600 million smartphones. The Competition Commission of India began an investigation into Google in late 2020, arguing that Google’s imposition of unfair conditions by forcing app developers to use its billing system violated Indian competition laws. The committee interviewed Android makers such as Xiaomi and Samsung in its investigation.
