HP disclosed a major vulnerability CVE-2023-1707 involving dozens of laser printers this week. A successful attack will allow hackers to access information transmitted between devices and printers on the same network. HP recommends using or a temporary downgrade to an older, bug-free firmware, while the actual patch is expected to be released within 90 days. According to HP, those affected are certain HP Enterprise LaserJet and HP LaserJet Managed Printers using FutureSmart version 5.6, and these laser printers must have the IPsec security protocol enabled.
