After Elon Musk played, the news about Twitter did not stop, and after the big layoffs, the Twitter Blue monthly fee plan was launched. However, recently there was news that more than 400 million Twitter account data appeared in hacker forums, and the owner of the stolen data threatened Twitter to redeem his company’s user data.
According to foreign media reports, a user recently sold the information of 400 million Twitter users for US$20,000 (approximately HK$150,000) in a hacker forum, and provided the information of 37 celebrities in the forum for buyers to compare. In addition, the user stated that he obtained the user’s personal information through Twitter patching the vulnerability in January this year. The user also warned the current Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, to buy his Twitter user data, otherwise he would most likely face huge fines under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). However, Twitter and Elon Musk have not yet responded to the incident.
It was also reported that the hacker used the leaking software RisePro to download and distribute user data through the malware downloader PrivateLoader.
