Google temporarily removed Chinese group-buying app Pinduoduo from its Play Store this week, citing malicious programs. Google pointed out that the company’s security software, Google Play Protect, found that a specific version of the Pinduoduo app downloaded from platforms other than the Play Store contained malicious programs. Therefore, based on security considerations, Google Play Protect has been set to block the installation of this app. Google also urges users who have installed the malicious program version to remove the app as soon as possible.
