A request from a bank not only changed the business model of Gogolook (wait and see), but also completely subverted the founder’s positioning of the product, allowing them to step into a market they never thought of, and turned Gogolook’s channel to another blue ocean. Gogolook launched the unfamiliar call identification app in 2010, and has released more than 30 language versions so far. It has been downloaded more than 100 million times worldwide and has accumulated a database of 1.6 billion phone calls. Within a few years of its establishment, Gogolook has become a model of innovation in Taiwan’s consumer market, successfully turning the question of “who is calling me” into a business.
