According to The Times news, Dyson will use 500 million pounds for research and development funds to expand the company’s electric hairdressing series product line, is expected to launch 20 new beauty and hairdressing products in the next four years.
While the company has engineering, research, development, manufacturing and testing operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Mexico, China and the Philippines, the vast majority of the new £500m investment will go towards expanding its UK development facilities, Dyson said.
Although Dyson has star products such as vacuum cleaners and hair dryers, it has continued to invest in the research and development of new products. In 2019, it was revealed to the media that it would spend 500 million pounds to develop electric vehicles. At the time, the Sunday Times said that Dyson’s electric car was a seven-seat SUV with a range of 965 kilometers. Only a year later, Dyson announced that it was abandoning the plan and would not launch an electric car.
