Automaker BMW is planning to play games on in-car screens, adding party gaming service AirConsole to cars with curved infotainment displays to make the product even more feature-rich.
BMW has announced a partnership with the AirConsole gaming platform, which will connect to a smartphone via a curved screen in the center console, allowing passengers to play games in the car while they wait for the electric car to recharge. The service allows multiple people to experience gaming fun together through a smartphone connection.
More than 185 online games, such as GoKart Go Air, Mega Monster Party and Let’s Cook Together, are currently available on the AirConsole platform, although it has not yet been determined which popular games will be available on BMW’s entertainment system.
According to relevant sources, AirConsole will first appear in the new BMW 7 series with the latest hardware, which will be launched next year, which means that some current vehicles equipped with the new curved display, such as the iX XDrive 50, will not be able to get games through over-the-air updates, but it is not ruled out. Possibility of hardware modification.
