Apple began to provide satellite emergency communication services in the United States and Canada on Tuesday. iPhone 14 users can send emergency information via satellite in places without cellular networks, and share their location and status with emergency contacts. This feature is free for the first two years and will be charged later . The system has already added this function in the most recent update, so no additional download is required. The satellite emergency communication service of iPhone 14 is realized through the 24 satellites of Globalstar company in orbit. Apple will begin offering the feature to users in France, Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom in December.
