Apple’s products have always been the main selling point for their design. Evans Hankey, who took over after the soul of Jony Ive left Apple, recently announced his resignation, and it has not yet been finalized who will succeed him.
Evans Hankey accepted the position of product design director from Jony Ive in 2019. Although Jony Ive did not completely leave the relationship with Apple until July this year, Apple’s products have many well-received designs in the past three years, such as The MacBook has abandoned the butterfly keyboard, and the M1 MacBook Pro has a very practical design, but at the same time, there are many products that have almost no design changes, such as the Apple Watch.
It has not been announced who will be head of product design after Evans Hankey leaves office, but Bloomberg quoted sources as saying that Airbnb’s vice president of design Gary Butcher will return to Apple, although it is unclear whether he will directly serve as design director. Apple did not explain why Evans Hankey left the company.
