Alphabet, the parent company of Google, announced its third-quarter earnings on Tuesday (10/25), showing that the quarter recorded $69.1 billion in revenue, up 6 percent, but net income was $13.9 billion, down from $18.9 billion in the same period last year. Shares of Alphabet fell more than 6 percent to $97.95 in after-hours trading, as neither revenue nor profit met Wall Street analysts’ expectations.
