Acer Chen Junsheng: The demand for consumer electronics has not yet picked up, and we will observe the second half of the year

Chen Junsheng, chairman of Acer, a computer brand factory, was elected as a director of the Health Policy Council for the first time on the 16th. Talking about the prosperity of this year, he believes that the demand for consumer electronics products has not yet picked up, and the situation in the first half of the year is not very good. boom.

Chen Junsheng said in a joint interview with the media after the meeting that he had just returned from a business trip in Europe, and mainly met with local dealers and Acer European executives to discuss the transformation direction of Acer Group.

According to his observation, the current demand in the European market has not yet responded. In the past, when the demand was good, the order would come by itself; “But now the business is not good, why don’t you go?”

The media asked about the impact of inflation on the business climate. Chen Junsheng pointed out that the demand for consumer electronics products has not seen signs of recovery and is still in a hard process. Currently, the business climate in Europe and the United States is relatively poor, while the economic conditions in Southeast Asia and South Asia are relatively good. Acer’s destocking is coming to an end, and the focus is on end-market demand. The first half of the year was not very good, and we need to see if it can recover in the second half of the year.

Regarding serving as a director of the Health Policy Council, Chen Junsheng said that if the information and communication industry wants to cross the field of biomedicine, it needs to transform computer applications into computing technology and artificial intelligence (AI). Acer has been working in this area for many years, and has also done basic research related to biomedicine. The ophthalmic AI-assisted diagnostic software VeriSee DR developed by its subsidiary Acer Smart Medical has been introduced to more than 100 hospitals in Thailand, the Philippines, and India.
